A voice commanding the stage from Bach and Handel to Mozart and Verdi.
Upcoming PerformancesA native of Los Angeles, California, Armon Golliday pursued his passion for the operatic voice at the University of North Texas, where he studied vocal performance, before establishing himself in the Dallas performing arts community.
Golliday's operatic repertoire encompasses a wide range of dramatic and lyric roles, including Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Claggart in Billy Budd, and L'Arbre in L'enfant et les sortilèges. A member of The Dallas Opera Chorus since 2004, he has contributed to numerous productions in comprimario roles, among them the 2nd Commissioner and 1st Officer in Dialogues of the Carmelites, the Usher in Rigoletto, the Customs House Guard in La Bohème, and the Notary in The Barber of Seville. He has also appeared with Fort Worth Opera, Dallas Bach Society, and the Orchestra of New Spain.
Among the defining experiences of his career, Golliday has shared the operatic stage with some of the most celebrated artists of his generation, including Renée Fleming, Samuel Ramey, Ruth Ann Swenson, Frederica von Stade, Denyce Graves, and Thomas Hampson. A particularly cherished milestone came in 2018, when he performed alongside his lifelong artistic idol, Kathleen Battle, in her acclaimed Underground Railroad: A Spiritual Journey concert at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas.
Equally at home in the sacred and concert repertoire, Golliday serves as a section leader at Highland Park United Methodist Church and has performed as a featured soloist in some of Europe's most storied musical centers, including Venice, Salzburg, and Vienna. His artistry is distinguished by expressive vocalism and broad stylistic fluency, with a repertoire ranging from Bach and Handel to Mozart and Verdi.
Beyond the stage, Golliday is a committed advocate for the operatic art form and currently serves on The Dallas Opera's Board of Directors, working to ensure that opera remains a vital and accessible presence in the cultural life of North Texas.
